Rihanna Debuts New Mermaid-Blue Hair Color in Barbados
Rihanna isn’t afraid to try something new in the style department, and she always makes it work. It’s fun to watch her cycle through hairstyles and go full-out on the red carpet, whether it’s at the Met Gala or a movie premiere. Her latest bold beauty move — a vibrant new hair color — happened on a recent visit home, and we can’t look away.
Of course, mermaid everything is a trend right now, but we don’t think Rihanna had that in mind when she arrived in Barbados for the Crop Over Festival with bright blue hair. The first glimpse of her new ‘do came when she posted a video on Instagram.
Seems like she was feeling particularly blue for the event, as she paired her new hue with an all-denim outfit, matching Robin’s egg nails, and even indigo-hued eyeliner. While she posted twice about the event, she never referenced the change in her look or the reasoning why she decided to go azure.
We could hope the “Work” singer went colorful in preparation for a new big screen role, but in reality, she’s probably just changing things up like she always does and keeping things monochromatic in the meantime. The only thing she’s missing is a bright blue lip!
