The First Shoe from Rihanna’s Puma Collab Is Everything You’d Expect
Some shoes just never go out of style — they get better with age — and that’s just the case for the first shoe out of Rihanna and Puma’s collab called the Puma Creeper. The Puma Creeper was announced today and it’s everything you’d expect from the edgy fashion girl/songstress/all-around badass: a bold spin on the classically-designed Puma suede shoe we’re all familiar with. Rihanna has been serving as Puma Women’s global brand ambassador and creative director and played a large role in the conceptualization and creation of the shoe, which is apparent when you peep the kicks, which Rihanna is wearing with a cute black romper and matching black lipstick in the campaign pics.
Rihanna reimagined the bestselling Puma Suede shoe to be more high-fashion with interesting details like a noticeably thicker platform that appears to have a slight sheen to it. The classic white Puma swoop is still front and center, while the laces and body of the shoe are a super sleek black. This is the kind of shoe you imagine the goth kids wearing to gym class, or to bring it to present times, a casual way to incorporate your all-black-everything style into every on-the-go outfit (give your black booties a rest!).
You can purchase the Puma Creeper starting on September 18, but they’re launching more colors and material combos even later in the month. We’re hoping there will be a tan/camel colored option, (because how chic is that?), or combos of bright bold colors similar to the Puma kicks designed by Solange Knowles. One look at the campaign, which co-stars rapper (and rumored boyfriend) Travi$ Scott, you’ll want to get your hands (feet?) on some ASAP.
