How to Create the Ultimate 'Riverdale' Group Costume
Halloween 2018 IS all about pop-culture group costumes. So if you're as obsessed with Riverdale as we are then you'll definitely be rallying the squad to get in full comic book character-come-to-life mode and dominate every contest ahead. Scroll on to learn how to DIY each character's costume from this cult-favorite TV show.
Archie Andrews: Not a natural ginger? No problem, just use some temporary red hairspray ($6) to achieve Archie's look. Once dry, follow it up with a letterman jacket ($40), a charcoal t-shirt ($13), dark denim skinny jeans, and white Chuck's ($50).
Betty Cooper: Get Betty's look by pairing a light pink blazer ($26), a grey dress ($26), and nude pumps ($40). Achieve her au natural glam with soft bronze eye and a berry lip. Complete by gathering hair into a high ponytail and wrapping a piece of hair around to hide the tie.
Jughead Jones: Start with dark denim jeans, a plaid shirt ($26), a dark grey sweater ($27), and a denim jacket ($53). Recreate Jughead's signature crown beanie by taking a dark grey beanie ($15) and gently snipping the sweater portion of the lined beanie into the shape of a crown. Once cut, pull the remaining sweater portion to the cut seam and either use fashion tape or hot glue to adhere the two parts (this will fill in the gap of what was cut, leaving the crown portion to be left up).
Veronica Lodge: Get that fancy and *always* polished look that Veronica is known for by combining a white collar ($10), a black lace shirt ($23), a black corduroy skirt ($30), a pearl bracelet ($9), and black heels (any will do). Create structured waves with a curling wand and add natural makeup, bold brows, and a deep, nude lip.
Josie McCoy: The show's songstress has mad cat-titude that's actually pretty easy to mimic. Start with a leopard print jumpsuit ($34), cat accessories ($10), and a faux leather jacket ($50). Complete the look with black booties ($30) and a black choker ($7). You can easily DIY a thick black belt using elastic or velvet. To give the tail more shape, you can add a thick piece of wire (from a hanger). If you don't already have tight, voluminous curls like Josie, consider wearing a wig ($18). Makeup should be natural with a golden highlight on cheekbones and neutral lip color.
Kevin Keller: This costume, belonging to Betty's BFF and Veronica's new GBF (gay best friend), is comfortable and really straightforward. Just wear your favorite dark denim skinny jeans, a navy windbreaker ($40), a white t-shirt ($7), and grey sneakers.
Cheryl Blossom: Riverdale's resident mean girl can be easily imitated with a plaid skirt ($15), a dark red turtleneck ($18), strappy black heels, and that juicy AF pout — AKA go over the top (and slightly outside the lines) with a bold red lipstick and liner. Finish with long waves.
Archie's always caught in the middle of these two!
The squad's all here, and now it's time to slay that Halloween contest as the full cast of Riverdale!
