This Floral, Royal Wedding Tea Is a Must for Your Viewing Party
The May 19 nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are just weeks away, and many Americans are planning early morning viewing parties to capture the momentous event, and that means many of us will be enjoying a spot of tea rather than a morning cocktail. To that end, Harney & Sons has relaunched its Royal Wedding Tea ($12), a blend of Chinese Mutan White tea buds, pink rosebuds and petals, and vanilla with almond and coconut extracts.
The Historic Royal Palaces, an independent charity that looks after many important sites in London including the Tower of London and Kensington Palace, commissioned the tea in 2011 for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, so it’s beautifully appropriate that it will reappear now for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day. “Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding is the perfect occasion to release this sophisticated blend,” vice president Mike Harney said in a statement. “We wanted a tea that was elegant enough to match the occasion, and I think we came up with just the right blend of flavors.”
As the wedding will air in the States at 7am ET on May 19, marketing director Emeric Harney says, “Sipping on a cup of our Royal Wedding blend [will make you] feel like you are a guest in Windsor Castle.” While the tea is available on the Harney & Sons site in both sachets and loose at varying tin sizes, it’s also available at Amazon for $20 with free shipping. We’ll clink tea cups to that.
