Russell Brand Just Welcomed a Baby Girl and Her Name Is (Adorably) Traditional

While Katy Perry may be disappointed by last night’s election results, her ex, Russell Brand, has a very different reason to be celebrating right now. After announcing back in June that he was expecting a baby with fiancée Laura Gallacher, the pair have now welcomed their little one into the world, and you’re going to adore her traditional name.
Though Russell and Laura have kept the deets of the pregnancy as private as their relationship, the comedian let the news out on Sunday while performing at the Nottingham Playhouse. An audience member told The Mirror that the new dad “was conscious of the clock and made sure he was off stage by… 9 pm,” because, in his own words, he “needed to get down the f*cking M21 as my girlfriend has just had a baby.”
And the baby’s name? Mabel. Yep, Mabel. A name that you might be more likely to connect with your nana than a newborn, it’s pretty darn adorable.
