Ryan Gosling Finally Reveals Why He Was Giggling During the Oscar Best Pic #Fail
Movie fans had a wide range of reactions when it came to this year’s epic Oscars Best Picture #fail. While Emma Stone was visibly shook, Ryan Gosling, on the other hand, seemed oddly amused by the entire sitch. And while we may not have initially understood his reaction, the actor has now revealed the relieved reason by his giggle fit.
Chatting with People, Gosling first set things up by saying, “What really was happening as I was watching, it was surreal anyway, I was watching people start to have this panicked reaction in the crowd and guys were coming on with headsets.”
While we’re now well aware of what the hub-bub was all about, at the time, Gosling wasn’t sure exactly what was going down. He admits, “I felt like someone had been hurt. I thought there was some kind of medical situation, and I had this worst case scenario playing out in my head.” Oh no!
However, the actor soon realized things weren’t so dire, saying, “…then I just heard, ‘Oh Moonlight won,’ and I was so relieved that I started laughing.” And there it is: His giggles were prompted by relief that the sitch wasn’t as bad as it could have been. That’s understandable, despite the fact that the envelope switch will undeniably go down as one of the biggest mistakes in Hollywood history.
