The Meaning Behind Ryan Gosling’s Necklace Will Melt Your Heart
We’ve all got that one accessory in our closets that we can’t stop wearing. Maybe it simply goes with everything, or it came from someone special. For Ryan Gosling, it’s a gold dog tag with a meaning close to his heart.
The Blade Runner 2049 actor has been wearing the necklace to nearly every event he attends. According to Us Weekly, these particular tags actually pay tribute to his terrier, George, as they were once worn by the adorable pup. (The Oscar nominee wore a similar accessory in 2014 for partner Eva Mendes’ dog, Hugo).
Gosling, 36, was spotted carrying his buddy, whom he adopted in 2002, wrapped in a blanket into an animal hospital in December of last year. It was also the last time the dog has been photographed.
In 2011, he brought George to the set of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and several years later, he gushed about “the great love of my life,” to The Independent saying, “George is way more interesting than I am. I’d rather talk about him.”
