This Samoa Girl Scout Cookie-Inspired Popcorn Is Tasty AF
Whether you were a Girl Scout or a devoted customer who voluntarily spent their whole paycheck on their delicious cookies (no, just us?), eating a whole sleeve of Girl Scout cookies (or these Girl Scout cookie cocktails) in one sitting is probably an annual tradition you took part of. But while we’re huge fans of our Thin Mints and Tagalongs, these precious treats aren’t available all year round. That’s where this Samoa popcorn snack comes into play. It’s coconutty, chocolatey, and covered in dulce de leche goodness. Want to give this new snack a go? Check out the full recipe below.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons dulce de leche
- 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup coconut shavings
- half a bag of popcorn
Instructions:
1. Place the popcorn bag in the microwave and follow the instructions until all the popcorn is popped.
2. Pour half the bag of popcorn in a large container.
3. Scoop dulce de leche in a small bowl and microwave for a few seconds until it’s slightly melted. Take it out of the microwave and stir the dulce de leche until it becomes smooth. Be careful not to overcook.
4. Carefully pour the dulce de leche over the popcorn and stir the two ingredients together until the popcorn is completely coated.
5. Next, sprinkle coconut shavings and chocolate chips over top. Pro tip: If you want a less crunchy treat, melt the chocolate in the microwave and drizzle on top of the popcorn. Add milk to the chocolate if it becomes too thick.
6. Mix all the ingredients together and enjoy.
