Samsung’s New Smart Home Collab Was Made for the Minimalist Gal
If there was a valedictorian for home furnishings, the sleek new “Creative Square” line between Korean design studio found/Founded and the Samsung Electronics wireless division would, hands down, earn the award. It’s that smart. The goal of the collab was to combine everyday home furnishings with smart technology for a modern, minimalistic vibe that’s super functional. And the result? A+ across the board. Scroll down to see why we can’t wait to get our hands on the pieces and turn our average home into a smart one STAT.
There are four pieces in all: a lighting fixture, charging plate, side table, and mirror cum humidifier (each of which looks like standard-issue modern home furnishings but with unseen powers).
This charging plate may look like a simple catchall you’d display on a console table for easy access to your keys and wallet, but it also doubles as a wireless phone charger. Just place your phone on it, and the re-juicing begins!
Hate it when speakers mess up your living room aesthetic? No need to choose between style and spectacular sound — these sleek side tables have speakers built right into them. Place your cocktail on top (on a coaster, of course), while your favorite tunes flow from the speakers below.
The speakers even have a handy remote control, which is much slicker and better looking than those boxy black ones that crowd our living room. The circular design fits in the palm of your hand, so control over the volume and your choice of tunes is literally at your fingertips.
These lights won’t just brighten up your space; they’re equipped with a Samsung 360-degree web camera. A good place for these pendants would be above any entry doors to your home or perhaps over your baby’s crib. Who knew security could be so chic!
This pretty mirror? It’s also a micro-humidifier and a diffuser for essential oils. Just pick it up and put it anywhere you want to say ahhhh.
While these pieces are definitely smarter than they look, you can’t buy them yet since they’re just conceptual designs. But we’re hoping we’ll be able to sometime in 2018. A girl can dream, right?
