Sarah Hyland Won the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards Carpet With a Tutu
…And just like that, Sarah Hyland wins the blue (yes, blue!) carpet! Of all the bright and colorful ensembles to vying for our attention tonight at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards, it wound up being the Modern Familystar’s simple, yet-utterly gorgeous black-and-white stunner that had heads turning.
The Naeem Khan creation featured a black sequined bodice and a tiered tulle tutu that took its cue from Lara Flynn Boyle famous David Cardona getup at the 2003 Golden Globes.
A chic, swept-back deeply side-parted chignon, Lorraine Schwartz earrings, and thin Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, polished off the ensemble as styled by Brad Goreski. Throw in a bold fuschia swipe of color to her lips, and the Candie’s creative director’s transformation into a prima ballerina was complete.
Given its major Black Swan vibes, we half-expected to see Hyland bust out in interpretive dance at any given moment, but alas, she didn’t do any pirouettes (not that we saw, anyway). The 27-year-old did continue to steal the show, however, as she gracefully posed in the jaw-dropping style.
C’est magnifique, Sarah!
