This Is Why Sarah Jessica Parker Is Stepping Back Into Carrie Bradshaw’s Stilettos
Earlier this week, Sarah Jessica Parker teased fans with the news that she would be bringing back Carrie Bradshaw for a mystery project. Today, January 22, she revealed what that project is: a partnership with Stella Artois and Water.org for their new “Pour it Forward” campaign, which aims to help end the global water crisis.
For the first 15-second campaign video, Parker recreated Sex and the City‘s opening sequence. As the series’ familiar theme song plays, she strolls down a city street — this time in an aqua tulle skirt instead of a pink tutu — before being splashed by water from a passing bus. But this time when she turns, instead of seeing her face on the bus ad, she sees a PSA noting that one bottle of Stella Artois equals one month of clean water.
“I couldn’t help but wonder,” she says in voiceover. “Wasn’t it obvious? You make a little change to do a lot of good.”
In this case, “a lot of good” is the “Pour it Forward” campaign. For every Stella Artois purchased from now until March 31, 2019, the brand will donate access to clean water to someone living without it (which is around 884 million people worldwide), through their partnership with Water.org.
“Enjoying Stella Artois helps provide access to clean water for someone in need,” Parker said in a press release for the campaign. “If Carrie was made aware of this important and fantastic partnership and initiative, I’m sure she wouldn’t waste a beat putting down her Cosmo and opting for a Stella, and I know that she would encourage all of her friends and audience to do the same.”
