This Is the Super Sweet Way Sarah Michelle Gellar Honored Her 15th Anniversary With Freddie Prinze Jr.
With so many long-term Hollywood splits as of late (RIP Anna Faris and Chris Pratt!), it’s always refreshing to see a couple that’s standing strong — even after 15 years together. Today marks that milestone for lovebirds Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr., and the mommy of two shared a super sweet post for the occasion.
Choosing a heartwarming snap from their wedding day and another for every year they’ve spent together since meeting on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer back in 1997, the Cruel Intentions executive producer compiled a photo video that showcased their love’s journey.
From smooches and birthday parties to boat rides and close snuggles, their shared memories are enough to give anyone a serious case of the feels.
“My husband thinks I’m crazy but I’m not the one who married me,” she joked. “#happyanniversary @realfreddieprinze. 15 years!!”
From where we’re sitting, both actors DO look crazy… crazy in love: Not only does the Freedom Force lead wax poetic about her husband on the reg via social media, but their real-life banter is too cute for words, which we got a glimpse of when she hosted him as a guest for a recent Facebook live.
There’s good reason for that, as Prinze Jr. told E! back in April. “We were just friends. That’s one of the reasons I think our relationship has always been so good,” he said. “We were just friends for a good year or two before we went on a date. She knew what kind of guy I was. She knew what my morals were, what my priorities were, and vice versa. We already kind of knew all the faults in the other person.”
Clearly, things took a turn for the romantic, but as the cookbook author continued, “It didn’t happen until years after and there was a solid foundation built, and that’s probably the main reason we’ve always been cool and groovy.”
For Gellar, it’s also about attentiveness, which she elaborated on to People. “Take the 10 minutes — put the phone down. Have a cup of coffee together. Walk the dog at the end of the night. Read a story with your kids. Make the most of the time that you have. We are pulled in so many different directions, so make sure that, whichever one you are focusing on, you’re present.”
… and having fun. After all, as Freddie says it best, “As long as they can make you laugh, laughter lasts forever. If you just think she’s hot or she just thinks you’re hot, you’re in a lot of trouble when you’re 60!”
Guy’s got a point!
