Michelle Kwan Gave Skating Lessons to Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Daughter and Our Hearts Are Bursting
Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar’s New Year is off to a good start! Like many working moms, the Food Stirs co-creator is taking full advantage of the holidays to spend some extra time with her kids doing all sorts of fun winter activities — like, say, ice skating. It was her daughter, Charlotte’s tutor for the day, however, who wound up making it *extra* special — Olympic figure-skating legend Michelle Kwan!
The Those Who Can’t star, Charlotte, and pal Elsa Marie Collins visited the East West Ice Palace skating rink in Artesia, CA yesterday, where the mommy-daughter crew got the lesson of a lifetime.
“EPIC DAY!!!” Gellar wrote on Instagram. “When your daughters want to learn to ice skate ⛸ (I mean really learn) who is better (or more qualified ) then the most decorated American skater in history – @michellewkwan.”
Charlotte wasn’t the only one getting tips, either: As the mother of two revealed, she also got some ice time with the retired figure skater.
“Thank you Michelle for a day, none of us will forget (no seriously my sore body won’t let me). She even taught the adults a few tricks!!!”

California-born Kwan rose to fame 20 years ago, winning a silver medal at the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, with another medal win in 2002 before retiring from the Olympic games. She also has won five world and nine US championships under her belt — but NBD, or anything (!!).
Talk about ringing in 2018 in style! Happy New Year’s, ladies!
