Sarah Paulson Debuted a Brand New Hair Color at the SAG Awards
We love a red carpet style risk. Whether it’s ditching a jewel-toned hue for a bold printed dress or buying off-the-rack, we applaud any star who bucks the trend. And when we talk about the SAG Awards 2017, we must bow down to Sarah Paulson’s dramatic hair color makeover.
The American Crime Story: The People v O.J. Simpson actress (and winner!) ditched her light blonde locks in place of a deeper, reddish-brown hue not unlike her real-life counterpart (and awards show date), Marcia Clark.
Sarah paired her new hair with a black strapless Vera Wang gown, a white blazer over it, a white box clutch and large diamond hoop earrings, and finished the look off with an orange-y red lipstick.
The hair color change is important to note for the actress, who once said in a roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “I’ve never been asked to play the [romantic] leading lady without having to be a blonde… I like the blond — but to be told that in order to be considered a romantic lady opposite some hunky guy, I need to have long blond hair that looked very LA Real Housewives? It does do something to your brain. You go, ‘Gosh, so the way I came into the world is not as appealing as it would be if I were altered in some way?’ That’s a funny message to extend to a person.”
Hey, Sarah, you’re still leading lady material as a brunette, and that hair is FIRE.
