Say Goodbye to Disney World’s Beloved Main Street Electrical Parade
Disney! What are you doing to us? After announcing the closure of a bunch of our fave rides and ditching their dazzling nightly fireworks shows, Disney World has just announced that it’s time to say goodbye to another of the most magical features the park has to offer. Beloved by kids and adults alike, the Main Street Electrical Parade, a “nighttime parade of glowing, spinning, gliding floats filled with beloved Disney characters and dancers,” will be making its final march very soon.
Disney announced the news on their website, saying, “The Magic Comes to a Close This Fall …Don’t miss this cherished Disney experience as it bids adieu to Walt Disney World Resort on October 9, 2016! …Be part of the magic — and the nostalgia too — as this long-running Disney Parks staple gives a closing bow on select nights throughout the season.”
While we can only assume this is to make way for something new and equally magical, it’s still sad to have to say goodbye to something that’s been such a special part of the Disney experience for so many. Seriously, these memory-making moments have gone back to when the parade debuted back in 1972.
With just under two months to enjoy the spectacle for the last time, you may want to make a sudden Disney World trip sooner rather than later.
