“Scandal” Star Katie Lowes Welcomes a Baby Boy and Shares His Adorable Name
As ABC’s hit soapy drama Scandal heads into its seventh and last season, star Katie Lowes (who plays Quinn Perkins on the show) now has some pretty special company on the couch with her: She and husband Adam Shapiro have welcomed their first child, a baby boy, and they shared his name and pic in the cutest way.
“Baby’s first #Scandal Thursday!” Lowes captioned an Instagram photo that she shared ahead of the show’s final season premiere on Thursday, October 5. The pic shows her new son’s feet sticking out of a blanket. “@shappyshaps and I are thrilled to welcome Albee Shapiro to our family! We’re happy & healthy! #BabyGladiator.”
The photo also features some not-so-subtle nods to the show that fans will love: a glass of red wine and a bowl of popcorn (Olivia Pope staples), and the power drill that Quinn has used as a torture tool to get information out of people. Just some family friendly goodness!
Shapiro shared the news with his Instagram followers too, reposting Lowes’ pic with a sweet caption showing love for his little fam. “I <3 Albee,” he wrote. “And I can’t even begin to say how much I <3 @ktqlowes.”
Lowes announced that she was expecting on Jimmy Kimmel Live! back in May, and at the time joked that she and Shapiro, who’s a huge basketball fan, were considering the name Lebron for the little one. While she hasn’t provided any info on where they got the inspiration for the name Albee, we gotta say: It’s a pretty cute one. Congrats to the growing family!
