Scream Queens and Two More of Your Fave Shows Have Been CANCELED
More sad news is coming out of Hollywood as this year’s cancellations continue to see some of your fave series getting the ax. While the first list of canceled shows from the 2017-2018 season was dire indeed (buh-bye, Bones!) and we were floored by the fact that we’ll be saying goodbye to Scandal, we’re now preparing to deal with more open spots in our TV-watching schedule as Scream Queens and two other popular shows have also just been canceled. *sigh*
“We have no plans at this point to go back there and tell more stories,” Fox co-chairman and CEO Gary Newman said on Monday according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Scream Queens was an anthological series. It feels as if it was a complete story… We won’t be seeing Scream Queens this season.” Despite a loyal following, the show never performed in ratings.
But the stars of Scream Queens aren’t the only ones who have suddenly found themselves without a regular gig. The Odd Couple starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon was a modern take on the now-classic story of mismatched roommates, but fans just weren’t interested. While CBS decided not to renew the show back in November, the official cancellation notice has just now been announced. Sorry, Oscar & Felix!
And though The Odd Couple will probably go quietly into the night, Tim Allen’s The Last Man Standing apparently won’t be leaving without a fight. While ABC has decided to ditch the show, fans have started a petition to save the series and are threatening to boycott the network if they go through with the plan. Considering Timeless was just saved by rallying fans, The Last Man Standing might actually have a chance.
Are you sad that Scream Queens, The Odd Couple, and/or The Last Man Standing have been canceled, or are you “meh” about these three? Let us know @BritandCo!
