See How Beyoncé Helped One of Her Backup Dancers Propose
One of Beyoncé’s backup dancers is no longer a single lady!
In the middle of a concert in St. Louis, Beyoncé (who just gave the world a smashing new Lemonade video) stopped the show to hand the mic over to backup dancer John Silver. Instead of launching into a dance number in his white suit, however, John had an ulterior motive.
After introducing the crowd to Beyoncé’s dance captain, Ashley Everett, John got down on one knee and asked her to put a ring on it in front of the audience (which just so happened to be made up of his hometown).
After standing back to allow them a passionate kiss, Bey moves in to congratulate the happy couple, but not before John is finished placing the ring on Ashley’s accepting finger. Realizing her faux pas, she moonwalks her way out of their moment, proving even Queen Bey isn’t immune to a bout of awkwardness every now and then.
After John finishes, the couple turns to acknowledge and hug Beyoncé.
With “Single Ladies” striking up in the background, Bey turns to Ashley and says, “Let me see you do the choreography after that,” she says.
Ever the captain, Ashley more than delivers, giving the crowd a taste of the iconic dance with Bey beside her.
