See the Pics from Princess Charlotte’s First Balcony Appearance
13-month-old Princess Charlotte reached a serious milestone yesterday when she made her first-ever balcony appearance as part of Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday parade, and if you thought she was cute before (have you SEEN Will and Kate’s fifth anniversary portrait and their first family portrait?), just wait ’til you see these heart-meltingly sweet snaps!
All eyes were on the tiny royal as she appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony in the arms of mum Kate. Beside her was two-year-old brother George (who reached this same milestone last year) and, of course, her great-grandparents, Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II. The princess wore a light pink dress for the occasion, complete with matching bow and shoes, proving that she’s a complete natural when it comes to her royal princessly duties by giving an uber-cute regal wave.
The little tot also hammed it up by giving the crowd her best goofy smile (with the added help of her fingers), making even the Duchess of Cambridge laugh.
The annual parade (AKA the Trooping the Colour ceremony) was just one part of the Queen’s birthday celebrations. On Friday, Britain’s longest reigning sovereign was celebrated with a special ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral, in which politicians, family and friends were able to express their gratitude for everything she has done for her country. Happy birthday, indeed!
