The Selby Just Made a Trapper Keeper for Adults
If there were a school supply hall of fame (we checked, there isn’t, boo), the Trapper Keeper would be the starring attraction. For decades, it’s been the cool school supply that leaves kids with plain old boring binders drooling with envy. If you never got yours, don’t despair, because The Selby just introduced an adult version. Designed by photographer and illustrator Todd Selby, The Selby’s Book of Wonders evokes all those school day memories — the good ones, anyway. With colorful, iconic illustrations, the journal has pages upon pages for your musings, lists, and more. And, of course, it comes with a magnetic closure.
“I loved Garfield and all types of cartoons as a kid and kept all my comics in my Trapper Keeper,” Selby told Brit + Co. “I always pretended to do work but was really reading my comics hidden in my Trapper Keeper. I love the magnetic flap that snaps shut. It’s so satisfying.”
Selby’s journal also comes with lots of stickers and places to doodle: “My watercolor doodles hopefully will inspire and bring out your inner doodler!”
While there plenty of journals on the market, Selby says his stands out for one quirky reason. “It’s pretty colorful, messy, and random, and also has stickers and all types of paper to write on — graph, lined, dotted,” he says. “I would call it pretty oddball!”
