Trying on your favorite Sephora beauty products is about to get a whole lot easier. WWD reported that the beauty giant is going to start testing a monthly subscription box service called Play! By Sephora starting in September, which means hunting down a free (and clean) makeup sample + fighting your way to open mirror space in the always-packed store are officially things of the past.
Beauty fans in Boston and two major Ohio cities, Columbus and Cincinnati, will have first dibs on the makeup-packed, mailed-to-your-door boxes before the service expands to the rest of the country in 2016. For $10 per month, you can expect a very Birchbox-y experience. Each haul, packaged in a sleek box that features a punchy lipstick pattern over Sephora’s classic black and white color palette, contains a curated collection of beauty products based around a specific theme, like essentials or skin care, plus extras like bonus samples, a special Spotify playlist and a Play! Book full of tutorials and beauty hacks.
If your vanity is starting to feel a little lonely, the Play! Book can connect you to additional content through the Sephora Go App (free on Android and iOS) and online, as well as act as a pass to unlock IRL one-on-one tutorials for everything in the box in stores.
