Serena Williams Shares the First Photo of Her Baby Daughter — Plus, Find Out Her Name!
Earlier this month, tennis superstar Serena Williams and her fiancé, Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian, welcomed a baby girl into the world. Now, just shy of two weeks later, the proud parents have shared the first photo of their daughter — and her name — on social media.
World, meet Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. That’s right — this little one was named after her father.
Williams also shared a video about her daughter’s journey into the world, from the first ultrasound to Williams’ grand slam victory (with a caption that reveals that no one knew she was eight weeks pregnant at the time) to the couple’s nursery prep (including an incredible rose-gold crib). We also see a little dancing, some obvious adoration between the tennis pro and her fiancé, and finally the beautiful Alexis.
“So we’re leaving the hospital after six, seven days. … It’s been a long time,” Williams explains in the video. “We had a lot of complications, but look what we got! We got a baby girl — junior.”
Ohanian also shared the video to his social media accounts, adding the caption: “Welcome, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr., we’re so happy to meet you. We made you a video of our adventure together so far (see bio). Our little girl is already mama’s perfect sidekick.”
Williams and Ohanian have been engaged since December 2016, but they don’t seem to be in any rush to tie the knot. And really, they have no reason to hurry things along, since they have a gorgeous new baby to fill their days with joy.
Congratulations to the adorable family! And welcome to the world, little Alexis, Jr.!
