Serena Williams Just Set a New Standard for Instagram Baby Bump Pics
Serena Williams has totally just set a new standard for Instagram baby bump pics. Granted, we were all blown away by Beyoncé’s epic setup — and adore pretty much any baby bump pic, TBH — but the woman who just won the Australia Open while secretly preggo (who also happens to be a friend of Bey, natch) has just penned a message to her unborn child that has us choking back the tears (while also admiring this badass mama!).
Taking to Instagram to show fans her growing belly, the sports superstar apparently decided NOT to opt for an elaborate photo shoot or highly decorated setup. Instead, she went with simple and oh-so-sweet.

While celebrating her fiancé’s birthday (happy bday, Alexis Ohanian!), Williams shared a simple selfie with fans, showing herself seated and wearing a swimsuit. But, oh my goodness, does she ever look blissfully happy. Talk about glowing!
“My Dearest Baby,” Williams begins, and yeah, we’re already totally emotional. She continues, “You gave me the strength I didn’t know I had. You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can’t wait to meet you. I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year.” OMG, yes! We can’t wait to see the little one watching their mommy take down more championship games.

The 35-year-old added, “But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you…. once again today. On @alexisohanian bday. 😉 from the world’s oldest number one to the world’s youngest number one. – Your Mommy.” Referring to the fact that at her age, she’s won an unprecedented 23 grand slams (!!!), we can’t wait to see if this little one inherits their mom’s athletic mastery, their dad’s tech savviness, or BOTH!
Either way, from the sounds of Serena’s message, this baby will certainly be loved.
