Ask any derm, makeup artist, or esthetician and they’ll tell you that a gorge complexion is the result of a great skincare routine — and that getting a regular facial is a must. But booking a monthly appointment at a pricey spa isn’t really in the budget for most of us. Which is why we’re SO excited about Silver Mirror, a new facial bar on NYC’s Upper East Side that focuses on results without the nonsense. And by that we mean they’re fast, affordable, and effective.
THE CONCEPT
Silver Mirror offers tailor-made facials for women, men, and teens and can incorporate peels, LED therapy, masks, and serums. The philosophy is simple: Great skin takes consistent upkeep.
The duo behind the skincare savvy spot? Cindy Kim (we’d expect nothing less from the beauty industry veteran and co-founder of Peach & Lily) and her business partner Matt Maroone.
Kim’s goal is to make healthy skin a habit by incorporating facials into client’s weekly skincare routines. “We created Silver Mirror to make it easy for people to make their skin a priority,” she tells Brit + Co. “Just like going to the gym regularly or getting weekly manicures, you have to perform ongoing maintenance in order to see results.”
THE SERVICES
A simple, curated menu of services address common skincare concerns and can be customized depending on each client’s needs.
Half-hour maintenance facials range from $75-$90 and include signature, party-prep, mom-to-be, and just for men services. Fifty-minute targeted facials range from $110-$130 and include sensitive skin, acne-fighting, anti-aging, and (seasonal special) winter skin fix facials. Add-on services like extra extractions and LED therapy cost anywhere from $10-$30 a pop. New acne clarifying and skin refining peels promise smoother, more even skin ($150-$175).
“We provide exceptional facials and facialists — you simply stop in for a treatment every week or two,” Kim says. “After one visit, you’ll glow. Over time, you’ll achieve healthy, beautiful skin that lasts.”
THE RESULTS
Whether you’re a skincare newbie or pro, one thing is for sure: Glowing skin takes work. “Receiving routine professional facials is a must to help keep your skin healthy and glowing,” she says. “That in combination with a great skincare routine and at-home maintenance can have impressive results!”
