This Alarm Clock Only Turns Off When You Snap a Selfie
Waking up for work is so hard — especially Friday morning after Thursday’s happy hour. No matter what your ritual for crawling out from under the covers is — shaking that phone, getting up and walking around etc — we can all agree that we just want that alarm to stfu. Now there’s a new download for those of us who need some motivation to stop pressing snooze: Snap Me Up, shutting up alarms one selfie at a time.
Snap Me Up, currently available for Android, is what you get when you mix selfienation with alarm clock annoyance. Those that DL the app are able to set alarms for the early AM. When the alarm goes off, all you have to do to shut it up is take a solo shot with the app’s built-in face detector. Yep, no blurry, rolled over in bed snaps allowed. Snap Me Up wants to see you in clear, alert vision, whether you have groggy eyes or not.
And those #wokeuplikethis selfies won’t be going the Snapchat route and disappearing. Every alarm clock-stopping shot is saved in a “My Sleepy Snaps” photo album within the app, providing you with LOLs or fear for the rest of the day. This could be a positive or negative, depending on how you look at it ;)
While we love a good selfie, we’re on the fence as to whether taking one right when we wake up is something we’re into. These snaps have the potential of making us feel like we woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but at least it’s likely effective in waking us the eff up. At the moment we’re gonna just stick with the snooze, but happy snapping and send us a selfie!
Will you be snapping selfies to wake yourself up in the morning? Let us know in the comments.
