SNL’s David S. Pumpkins Just Made Your Fave Halloween Movies Even Better
Tom Hanks stole hearts nationwide (again!) when he appeared on last week’s Halloween-themed Saturday Night Live as David S. Pumpkins, just a few weeks after adorably crashing a wedding photo shoot in Central Park.
Now, Mr. Pumpkins, who rivals the best that SNL has to offer (including Kristen Wiig’s most lovable characters — DIY Halloween, anyone?), is returning to make our fave horror movies even spookier.
Buzzfeed’sJesse McLaren has gifted the world with 51 seconds of Halloween perfection in a video montage that sees our beloved David S. Pumpkins invading a handful of spooky classics, from The Shining to The Ring (and yes, his dancing skeleton sidekicks made the cut too, although we could have used more of them, TBH). Also included? The weird, yet strangely mesmerizing music from the original sketch.

It’s just another example of the David S. Pumpkins madness that has all but taken over since the skit’s debut. Although Tom himself told Access Hollywood “I don’t exactly understand it” when asked about the viral nature of the super silly skit, his David S. Pumpkins costume quickly sold out everywhere and, if Twitter’s reaction to Jesse’s new creative take on the character is any indicator, Mr. Pumpkins won’t be dying anytime soon.
@McJesse there's only 1 problem with this: it's too short

We’ve gotta say, we are enjoying this Pumpkins frenzy, even if it doesn’t make all that much sense. Which, perhaps, is exactly why it’s funny in the first place.
