Spice Girl Geri Horner Just Gave Birth on the Biggest Day for Girl Power Yet
Leave it to our #BabyBump inspo Geri Horner (formerly Halliwell) — one of the five original members of the Spice Girls (now GEM), whose core message, of course, was all about girl power — to give birth to her second child on the most empowering day for females this year .
As the rest of us either joined the Women’s March or tuned in live (are you watching? SO INSPIRED!), Geri was notably absent — perhaps because she was busy, recovering from childbirth.

Uploading a glimpse of her new 7lb., 8oz. arrival to Instagram, she wrote, “Montague George Hector Horner arrived this morning, a beautiful little brother for Bluebell and Olivia.”
Though it wasn’t a little girl she gave birth to today, we can’t help but smile at the significance of the fact that a woman who championed the very ideals we’re celebrating today exhibited the power of our gender by bringing new life into the world.
Even better? It also happens to be the birthday of another girl power champ — Geri’s bandmate, Miss Emma Bunton, who turns 41 today!

Geri, along with Mel. C, made sure to wish her a happy one, posting this amazing throwback to her page.
Congratulations, Geri (and happy birthday, Emma!) — LONG LIVE GIRL POWER!
