These Spicy S’mores Are So Hot Right Now
Let’s talk about spicy food. For some, that kick gives them all the right mouth feels and satisfies the need for watery eyes and a tongue on fire. For others, it ruins their day, sending them into a dramatic state, arms flailing as they search for any available dairy product they can chug. The funny thing about spiciness is that it is so subjective. Ask a group of people how hot something is on a scale of 1-10 and you’ll get some saying it’s a two and others saying it’s an 11. Today’s recipe is for those of you who crave the heat, though it can easily be adjusted to suit any spice preference (take note, all you 11’s out there). We’re making spicy s’mores because chocolate plus cayenne is what dreams are made of. Follow along for the how to.
Ingredients:
— graham crackers
— chocolate bar
— marshmallows
— cayenne pepper
Instructions:
1. Preheat the broiler, setting it to low if you have that option.
2. Dip marshmallows into water, then roll in cayenne pepper.
3. Place a square of chocolate and a marshmallow on top of a graham cracker.
4. Cook s’mores on a baking sheet in the oven for two minutes.
5. Add a second graham cracker on top and enjoy!
For easy dipping, place your marshmallows on skewers. Then coat them in water followed by cayenne pepper. Add as much as your little heart desires!
Place crackers on a baking sheet, then add a piece of chocolate and a cayenne-dipped marshmallow.
Put these in the oven for two minutes, keeping a close eye on them so they don’t burn.
Kind of like mine did! You guys, these were literally in the broiler for three minutes. That oven gets HOT!
Top each s’more with a second graham cracker and you’re done.
Mmmmm.
So gooey and deceivingly fiery!
If you’re camping, take this outdoors and cook your s’mores over the campfire instead. Just be sure to warn your fellow campers about the spice factor!
Happy s’mores-ing!
