These Spooky Halloween Popsicles Will Treat Your Tastebuds
With Halloween only a few days away, you’re probably finalizing the finishing touches to your costume and counting down the days until your big Halloween party this weekend. But even though you were punctual about your costume, you completely forgot that you had to make something for your own BYOT (Bring Your Own Treat) party. Whoops! No worries, we got you covered. If you have four hours and popsicle molds, and you love coconut, then these spooky Halloween popsicles are for you. Oh yeah, they’re covered in chocolate too — you know, just in case you needed another reason to try this recipe out.
Ingredients:
- 1 bar dark chocolate
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
- 1 can (about 2 cups) coconut milk
- 1 cup sweet condensed milk
- a pack of candy googly eyes
Instructions:
1. In a medium-sized bowl, pour the coconut milk, sweet condensed milk and heavy whipping cream and mix everything together with a spoon.
2. Carefully pour the mixture into the popsicle molds and place a popsicle stick right down the middle.
3. Place the popsicle molds into the freezer and let them freeze for at least four hours.
4. Before the four hours are up, pour a small amount of milk into a saucepan and slowly add pieces of the chocolate bar in. Continuously stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Turn off the stove and let the chocolate completely cool down.
5. Once the four hours are up, take the popsicle molds out of the freezer and gently wiggle the popsicles out of the mold. You might have to use a little bit of water to help loosen them up.
6. Lay all the coconut popsicles onto a large plate and gently drizzle the melted chocolate over them.
7. Next, grab a few of the candy googly eyes and carefully place them on top of the popsicles. You may want to do these steps as quickly as possible, before the popsicles melt.
8. Place the popsicles back in the freezer, until the candy googly eyes and the chocolate are completely frozen again.
9. Leave them in the freezer until they’re ready to serve.
