Starbucks Just Revealed Its 2018 Holiday Drinks and We Want Them All
Halloween is officially over, so you know what that means: Starbucks has revealed its annual menu of delicious-sounding holiday drinks, along with the festive new cup designs they’ll be served in.
Starting on Friday, November 2, Starbucks stores around the US and Canada will roll out six seasonal drinks: Peppermint Mocha (which makes its return for a 16th year!), Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Gingerbread Latte, and Eggnog Latte. All of the holiday beverages will be available hot, iced, and as Frappuccino blended beverages, in case you’re not ready to give up your cold coffee just yet.
Of course, as with every year, the limited-time hot drinks will be served in a new selection of holiday-themed cups. “We started (this season) by looking to the past,” Kristy Cameron from the Starbucks Creative Studio said in a statement.
Using snippets of vintage Starbucks designs of the past, including a star, coffee cherries, and a flame evoking the season’s warmth, designers added new visual twists on vintage patterns (like argyle), as well as nostalgic mint-green and classic red hues. The end results are this year’s four cup designs: Stripes, Flora, Espresso Houndstooth, and Stargyle.
Of course, the chain is offering more than just drinks and cups for the holiday season. Starting November 2, you can pick up some wintry treats to go with your Peppermint Mocha. Perhaps a Chocolate Swirl Brioche? Or maybe you’d prefer a Pistachio Honey Croissant or a Sugarplum Cheese Danish.
In any case, the decor will be festive, the Christmas-blend coffee beans will be available to take home, and you’ll be able to start your shopping with lots of new holiday-themed gift cards. You may even walk out with a gift for yourself: Customers who order a holiday beverage on November 2 will receive a free, limited-edition reusable red cup (while supplies last — so get there early).
