Starbucks Is FINALLY Adding Almond Milk to Its Menu
Starbucks is basically the land of beverage customization. Whether you’re after the Instagram-friendly purple drink or the ultra-topical Pokemon Frappucino, there are literally over 170,000 ways to personalize your drink. That number is about to soar exponentially higher, because the coffee chain is FINALLY adding a new milk to its menu. And yes, it’s of the almond variety.

But ask and you shall receive, my coffee-loving friends. Starting in September, Starbucks will offer almond milk in all stores nationwide. They’ve even gone so far as to craft their own version of the drink, which they’re calling “Almondmilk.” It’s different because it’s one word, okay?!
In a release about the new addition, manager of Starbucks’ beverage research and development team Yoke Wong writes, “We created our own almond milk recipe to complement our hot, iced and Frappuccino blended beverages. It was designed so that when steamed, it creates a rich foam for hot beverages and is delicious and creamy when served in cold beverages.”
But the new dairy-free alternative won’t be free. To add the new milk to your morning latte will cost you an extra 60 cents per drink. Worth it? Considering almond milk is current controlling 60% of the nondairy market, we’re going to say that’s a hard yes from most consumers.
