The Starbucks Holiday Cup Is Officially Here and It’s Customizable
You definitely haven’t finished eating your Halloween candy yet, but Starbucks has already released their holiday cup, so it’s time to say goodbye to fall and hello to the holidays, we guess.
The Starbucks holiday cups have become such a controversy in recent years. Remember how much people hated the plain red design in 2015? Or how about last year’s green cups, which were replaced by red cups that came in 13 different designs, proving that the coffee chain heard our screams about being boring and went in the complete opposite direction?
It seems Starbucks is all about celebrating individuality this year. Save for some swirling red and green ribbons (“an ode to cups of years past,” said the company in their press release), the new seasonal cups have been left mostly blank for YOU to customize, so get ready to bust out your colored pencils.
The graffiti-inspired design features all the holiday standards, including a Christmas tree, gift boxes, doves, and snowflakes, but these are the first-ever “color-in” cups. Leanne Fremar, executive creative director for Starbucks, says, “This year’s cup is intentionally designed to encourage our customers to add their own color and illustrations. We love the idea of everyone making this year’s cup their own.”
The DIY cups are certainly Insta-worthy, and we love that the coffee giant is celebrating creativity and individuality. Also, the sleeves are all emblazoned with #GiveGood, the pay-it-forward style campaign the coffee chain is launching during the most wonderful time of the year. Color us inspired.
Starbucks lovers, if you want in on this limited-edition design, get yourselves to a coffee counter STAT.
