Starbucks Just Added a Delicious New Holiday Drink You’ve Never Had Before
When temps start dropping and scarves, gloves and earmuffs start coming out, there’s nothing cozier than having a steaming hot drink in your hands. Recently, Starbucks made some headlines when their iconic red cups made their return. Those cups are sure a sign as any that holiday season is finally here, and in conjunction of the season, the coffee makers are also releasing some of their limited holiday beverages (hooray!). The chestnut praline latte, caramel brulée latte and the eggnog latte are back. But there’s a newcomer on the list: the brand new Holiday Spice Flat White.
If you recall, the flat white made quite a splash (pun intended) earlier this year when it landed in the US from Australia. The flat white it unique in that it’s two ristretto shots (think espresso but more sweet and condensed) that’s then diluted with a pour of steamed whole milk and complete with a white latte dot on top. So what exactly sets the holiday version apart from the original? Let us tell you.
According to USA Today, the ristretto shots will be made with Starbucks’ custom Christmas blend espresso and “a blend of mulling spices.” Mulling spices traditionally contain cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and some kind of fruity element. Starbucks’ version will have all the above, plus ground sugar, ginger and a “hint of tangerine sugar.” Sounds mouth-watering.
We’ll take a venti to go.
