Starbucks Is Raising the Prices of Some of Your Fave Drinks and Snacks
It’s been a bumpy few weeks for Starbucks — first finding themselves embroiled in their annual red holiday cup brouhaha, then getting caught up in post-election drama — and we have even more news that you likely won’t be pleased about. Starbucks is raising the prices of some of your fave drinks and snacks. Definitely not what we need around the (already wallet-draining) holidays.
You may in fact have already noticed a slight bump in your bill when visiting your local Starbucks, as the uber-popular chain started raising prices by 10 to 30 cents on items like cold drinks (including their cold brew) and certain bakery items. On average, the cost of an order will increase around 0.5 percent. A seemingly small amount at first, but after a while, it certainly all adds up.
“We continually evaluate pricing on a product-by-product and market-by-market basis in our stores in order to balance our business needs while continuing to provide value to our loyal customers and to attract new customers,” a spokesperson from Starbucks told Business Insider.
This latest price increase follows one that just happened in July and may be due to the brand’s slowing sales growth. Despite that, we have no doubt certain folks will have no issue paying a few extra cents for their fave Starbucks treats. Though, if we’re wrong, here are 22 Starbucks copycat recipes your wallet will thank you for.
