Starbucks’ New Frappuccino Is All About the Flavor
With all of the Unicorn Frappuccino madness taking over social media — not to mention the Pink Pegasus Frappuccino, Dragon Frappuccino, the inevitable Mermaid Frappuccino, and even a Narwhal Frappuccino (which definitely proves that this trend has jumped the shark) — we may have thought that drinks which focused on flavor over looks were a thing of the past. But now it seems that Starbucks has remembered how much we love their classic tasty frapps, which is why they’ve just introduced the Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino. *drools*
“We started by thinking of the heydays of summer,” said Jennica Robinson from Starbucks’ beverage development team. “We were inspired by thoughts of dark starry nights, looking up at the sky with a cool summer breeze.” Well, now, that’s just lovely.
With that, Starbucks created a layered beverage that starts with scoops of extra-dark cocoa blended with coffee, milk, and ice, which is then infused with cooling mint sugar crystals and “cut” with a layer of whipped cream. As if that isn’t dreamy enough, the frapp is topped off with even more whipped cream and a dusting of dark cocoa. YUM!
It’s available at participating Starbucks stores in the US and Canada starting today (May 2), and we can’t wait to get our hands on this minty, mocha-y scrumptiousness.
