Starbucks New Protein-Packed Cold Brews Are Basically a Caffeinated Smoothie
We know that a morning serving of protein is a good way to not be hangry during the day, but when we’re in a rush, all we really care about is that morning dose of caffeine. That’s why we’re really into these new Protein Blended Cold Brews from Starbucks.
Available starting today, these new plant-based (aka vegan-friendly) Protein Blended Cold Brews come in both Almond and Cacao flavors. Almond comes packed with 12 grams of protein, while Cacao has 10 grams. These aren’t calorie-dense either, as each drink is less than 270 calories.
So what’s in it exactly? Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew combines Starbucks Cold Brew with Almondmilk, plant-based protein, almond butter, Banana Date Fruit Blend, and ice. The Cacao variety blends Starbucks Cold Brew with Coconutmilk, plant-based protein, cacao powder, Banana Date Fruit Blend, and ice.
If you want to kick these up a bit, there’s all sorts of options to customize it from mixing in a banana, adding a shot of espresso, swapping out the milk type, or even boosting it with more protein powder. The takes are endless, so we’re pretty invested in taking our time trying all the various combos and finding our ideal variety.
