Starbucks Just Revamped Its Rewards Program to Give You So Much More
Get your gold cards ready Starbucks-lovers, because starting April 16, the coffee giant that we can’t get enough of will have a whole new rewards program that’s better than ever. Rather than just racking up stars that will be redeemable for one free item, the new Starbucks rewards program will have tiers so you can spend your stars on a wider variety of freebies. Let’s take a closer look at how the new program compares to the current version.
On Starbucks’s current rewards program, you earn two stars for every dollar you spend in a store. Once you’ve earned 125 stars, you can redeem them for a free food or drink menu item of any price point. On the new program, you’ll still earn two stars for every dollar spent, but you can redeem them for items at different values. For example, for only 25 stars, you can get your non-dairy milk alternative for free. 50 stars rewards you a fresh coffee or baked good. Now, it will require 150 stars, not 125, for a handcrafted latte, hot breakfast item, or parfait.
Stars will expire after six months, so don’t let them linger in your account. However, if you are a Starbucks credit card holder, your stars never expire. Ever. All of this takes effect April 16, so it’ll be the perfect time to pick up a Cloud Macchiato or a keto white drink and get yourself on the fast track toward a free protein box at 200 stars.
