Starbucks Has 3 New Treats That Will Redefine the Term “Sugar Rush”
Starbucks, you never cease to amaze us with your creations. The number one first date spot recently announced its brand new frozen drink for the summer (available today, FYI!), the S’mores Frappuccino. But since all that sugar packed in a tall, grande, venti or even a trenti isn’t enough, this sugary blended beverage will be garnished with something extra special — a cookie straw. Yes, a straw. Made of cookie.
Available for a limited time the S’mores Frappuccino is kicking off summer early. Inspired by campfire nights roasting some marshmallows and graham crackers (with a *little* extra dose of sugar), the frozen drink is a layered concoction of marshmallow-infused whipped cream, milk chocolate sauce, graham, coffee and (coconut?) milk. As if that’s not enough, the beverage is then topped with more marshmallowy whipped cream, graham cracker and that chocolate wafer cookie straw — which is available for free with purchase while supplies last (or $0.95 if you want extras ;) This definitely isn’t a substitute for that morning double shot of espresso.
If that potential sugar rush doesn’t get your mouth watering, the return of the coffee purveyor’s former summer fave might be up your tastebuds’ alley. The Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino is described as a “blend of buttery caramel syrup with Frappuccino roast coffee, milk and ice, topped with a layer of dark caramel sauce, whipped cream, caramel drizzle and crunchy caramel sugar topping.” Sorry cookie straw enthusiasts, those wafer sippers don’t come free with this one.
Skeptical or a little intimidated by these barely-coffee bevs? Starbucks must understand our fear as they are beckoning us in to test them out with a Frappuccino Happy Hour from May 1 to 10, 3 to 5pm where all Frapps are half-off at participating stores. Starbucks: 2, Dentists: 0.
Will you be picking up a S’mores Frappuccino garnished with a cookie straw? Let us know in the comments.
