Netflix’s “Stranger Things” Has Teamed Up With Lyft to Drive You to the Upside Down
We’re just two days away from the premiere of Stranger Things season two, and as we creep closer and closer to the Upside Down, ride-sharing company Lyft has teamed up with Netflix in the first partnership of its kind to introduce a brand new horror-filled ride known as “Strange Mode.”
On October 27 or 28, those who live in the LA or Philadelphia areas can request the spooky voyage instead of their regularly scheduled car trips by tapping Strange Mode as an option when ordering their ride for pickup.
From the looks of the promo vid, what begins as a conversation about riding bikes through the streets as a kid and playing Dungeons and Dragons (just like Will and his pals) might be a sign that things are about to get freaky, with glitching maps, broken locks, scary pop-ups, and an erratic driver — and that’s all before the Demogorgon arrives! Those who survive will be treated to — what else!? — an Eggo waffle.
Check out the footage from a few lucky (or unlucky?) riders who received the Strange Mode treatment a little early in the clip above, but be warned: It might make you feel like Barb trapped in the swimming pool!
Would you be willing to try out Lyft’s Strange Mode ride to experience a little bit of that spooky Stranger Things vibe? Let us know @BritandCo!
