Give Your Bod a Power Boost With This Strawberry Chia Quinoa Bowl
Nothing delights us more than finding a healthy recipe that *actually* tastes delicious. Between eating a jar full of Oreo chocolate chip cookies and quenching our thirst with gin summer cocktails, it’s easy to see why it might be a good idea to pause our sweet intake to cleanse our bods. But when we decide to swap our beloved chocolate cake recipes for something a little (dare we say) healthier, it’s vital that the recipe tastes just as good as it is nutritious. That’s why these strawberry chia quinoa bowls are going to be your new BFF during the summer. They’re filled with so many wholesome ingredients and taste so yummy that you might actually forget about your favorite sugary snacks (okay, we said maybe).
Ingredients:
— 1 cup cooked quinoa
— 5 Tablespoons chia seeds
— 1 1/2 cup almond milk
— 3/4 cups strawberries (quartered and sliced)
— 1/4 cup raspberries
— 1 Tablespoon walnuts or almonds
— 2 Tablespoons unsweetened coconut flakes
— 1 Tablespoon honey (optional)
— edible flowers (optional)
Instructions:
1. The night before, place strawberries, raspberries and milk into a blender and blend until smooth.
2. Transfer liquid into a jar and add chia seeds. Mix together until the chia seeds are fully coated. Cover with a lid and refrigerate over night. If you want, add honey to sweeten it up.
3. The next day, cook quinoa and let it cool.
4. Neatly place all ingredients into a bowl and layer sliced strawberries, walnuts/almonds, coconut shavings and edible flowers on top.
