Sushi Donuts Are an Oddly Delicious Combination of Your 2 Favorite Things
While rainbow sushi is keeping things colorful and sushi cakes are stacking things a little differently on your dinner plate, yet another new take on the fishy deliciousness has hit the scene. This time, it’s all about the sushi donuts. That’s right — if you like your food to come in weird and unexpected manners (or just friggin’ love sushi of all forms and donuts of any making), then you need to check out sushi donuts.
They’re the brain-child (and belly-pleaser) of So Beautifully Raw’s Sam Melbourne, who gives us reason to be “Sushi Donut Dreamin’” by posting pics of her delicious-looking delights to Instagram. Her creations happen to be vegan, but we’re sure you could mix it up if faux-fish isn’t your style.
Sharing the deets so that you can make them yourselves, Sam says to, “Simply grease a donut mould with coconut oil, mould in cooled sushi rice and then gently remove by lifting the pan upside down. Decorated with black sesame, ginger, wasabi, cashew, mayo and avocado.”
With responses in the comments like “this is the best thing I’ve ever seen” to “literally blew my mind, dude,” it sounds like these might be a great option for your next off-kilter, creative dinner party.
