This Is the Superficial Trait Women Care About MOST in a Partner According to Science
When it comes to matters of the heart, you can’t help who you love, amirite? You can find love in any old hopeless place (thanks, Rihanna) and regardless of any physical feature… except for one. According to a study that will be published in the March 2016 edition of the Journal of Personality and Individual Differences, women place a lot of emphasis on one specific physical trait. And no, it’s not weight, hair or Channing Tatum-like dance moves.
Apologies to the vertically challenged. The trait women care about the most is height, and according to the study, “a greater height difference in a couple was positively related to the wife’s happiness.” We’ve all heard of that age-old saying, “Happy wife, happy life.” Guess they forgot the third part of the equation, which is “tall partner, happy wife, happy life.”
But don’t worry, people. Height does matter, but more so in the beginning. The study found that the influence of height and the corresponding happiness it affects wanes over time. That is, the longer the relationship, the less height appears to make a difference in the relationship. The study states that this height-induced happiness appeared to be “entirely dissipated by 18 years of marital duration.”
So there you go, folks. Love truly does conquer all (heights).
