Is This New Cream the Future of Tattoo Removal?
We love seeing beautiful, intricate tattoos and hearing all about the significance behind them… even if the meaning has changed a little since you went under the tattoo gun. If you feel like your tattoo artwork no longer suits you, we know the idea of going through painful laser removal can make anyone think twice about getting rid of their ink. Now there’s a better option, thanks to Biophosphonate Liposomal Tattoo Removal, a cream that wants to make tattoo removal a bajillion times less painful.
Created by Canadian PhD student Alec Falkenham, the cream uses macrophages to target the ink and bring pigments to the lymph nodes. Over time, you’ll slowly notice the ink fading away. If you’re science savvy, you might be doubting this method, because you already know that it’s an immediate reaction for our naturally produced macrophages to clear the pigment in the first place, but they end up failing to do so — resulting in an awesome tattoo. But Falkenham’s macrophages are different, because they are made solely to remove ink, while your natural ones are not.
Still can’t believe it? The cream has been tested on tattooed pig ears and it’s showing great results — particularly for ink that’s over two years old. Considering that the estimated cost of removing a four-by-four inch tattoo will be around $5, it would definitely be worth a try.
