Taylor Swift’s sixth album, Reputation, finally (!!) dropped yesterday and fans could barely deal. After months of decoding every single lyric to every single, they were indeed “…Ready for It?”, but their excitement was apparently a little too much for iTunes to handle.
Shortly after the record’s midnight release, the site was struggling to keep up with demand from hundreds of thousands of Swifties (800,000 in just six minutes, to be exact), causing its servers to “badly lag,” leaving anxious fans unable to download their purchases.

Others still complained of exorbitant wait times of up to 40 minutes for their copy of the album to start playing.

While impressive, crashing iTunes is nothing new for the 27-year-old. When she released 1989 back in 2014, the exact same thing happened.

Despite all of the technical issues, however, it seems there’s no bad blood here: The album quickly shot to the number one spot in the site’s store and is expected to exceed even Swift’s own 1989 record, which was the fastest-selling album in the last 10 years, with first-week sales for Reputation expected to reach two MILLION in its first week alone. Wowza!
If you’re still having trouble getting your hands on the new opus, IBT points out you can try “force closing the app and opening it again,” pick up a physical copy, or hear it free on iHeart Radio, both via the app and on actual radios, in the meantime. They’ve also set up Reputation Radio, which will play the pop star’s music 24/7.
