The Best Reactions to Taylor Swift’s New Song “Look What You Made Me Do”

After teasing her new single and album with cryptic Instagram clips three days in a row, Taylor Swift finally released “Look What You Made Me Do” late Thursday, August 24.


The song — which is dark and vengeful and declared the old Taylor to be dead — swiftly (ahem) began trending on Twitter, with fans tweeting in all-caps excitement as the song’s lyrics revealed themselves:

But of course, as Tay knows all too well, there were some haters:

And then came the memes, because this is, after all, the internet:

And some people couldn’t help but notice that the chorus of the song sounded strangely familiar:

It turns out that ’90s one-hit-wonders Right Said Fred even have a writing credit on “Look What You Made Me Do.”

But that’s not the only thing people thought the song sounded like:

Whatever you think of Swift or her new single, you can’t deny her star power — she always gets people talking (or singing along). And we’ll be talking about her for a while — Reputation (her first new album since 2014’s smash 1989) comes out on November 10, 2017.
