Dwayne Johnson Made the Most Heartwarming Gesture for a Young Fan That Asked Him to Prom
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson may have a penchant for playing tough guys on the big screen, but in real life, he’s as sweet as they come — see his aww-worthy marriage proposal to Frances McDormand for proof. The actor may have just outdone himself, however, with the heartwarming gesture he made for a Minnesota teen who took to Twitter to ask him to the prom.
Katie Kelzenberg, a senior at the Stillwater Area High School in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota, posted the ultimate promposal to Twitter when she flawlessly recreated the movie star’s viral ’90s throwback outfit of a black turtleneck, a silver chain, and a fanny pack. “Dwayne, will you ‘Rock’ it at prom with me?” she asked.
Fast forward to Friday and the Jumanji star had the teen in tears of joy as he hijacked her school’s PA system with a very special message for his superfan.

“I’m going to start this Friday morning announcement off with a little bit of fun and a little bit of excitement,” he teased, as the soon-to-be grad looked around in confusion. “You’re probably thinking ‘What? What is The Rock doing on our intercom system?’ Well, I’m sending a message to a very special young lady, and her name is Miss Katie Kelzenberg.”
Though the 45-year-old was unable to attend prom with the high school senior on May 5, as he’ll be in Hawaii filming his upcoming movie, Jungle Cruise, he found another way to make her day, making the announcement that he had organized a private screening of his new sci-fi flick, Rampage, for her and more than 200 guests!
“I was so impressed by this young lady’s charm and confidence to even ask me (ladies always get shy in front of me) that I had to do something special,” he explained via Instagram. “I decided to rent out an entire theater (capacity 232 seats) in her town so Katie and her closest 232 friends and family can enjoy a special screening of RAMPAGE. And all the free popcorn, candy and soda high school kids can consume! You’re money’s no good Katie… everything is on Uncle DJ. Thanks for being an AWESOME FAN and I’m a lucky dude to have fans like you.”
What a guy!
