The Very First Pics of Emma Watson in Full Belle Costume Are Here and We Are Freaking
We’re ALL about live-action remakes of our fave childhood movies (did you hear a live-action Lion King is in the works? YAS!), but it’s the Beauty and the Beast revamp starring Emma Watson that has us (and every other rabid Disney fan alive) particularly excited. Every single glimpse we’ve gotten so far, from the teaser trailer to the candid on-set snaps and costume sketches, has made our hearts sing with joy, but the just-released first photos of Emma in full Belle costume have us totally freaking.
Though we got a quick glimpse of her playing our bookish heroine during a table read (courtesy of the film’s animated anniversary DVD) back in September, shots/clips of Emma in full-on Belle costume have been very closely guarded ― until now. While we’ll still have to wait until March 17 to see the film hit theaters (and what a hard wait that’s going to be!), these two newly leaked stills are pretty much giving us life.

First up is Emma wearing Belle’s classic blue dress, white shirt combo atop her beloved bookcase ladder, tomes in arms. As @AgentSpiderMan perfectly pointed out on Twitter, “Emma Watson as Belle is one of the best decisions Disney has ever made.” Seriously, we couldn’t agree more.

And don’t even get us started on Emma in Belle’s gold gown from the ball (honestly, our fave scene *swoon*) while dancing with Dan Stevens’ Beast! @PatronusMalec practically read our minds when he wrote: “OH MY GOD EMMA WATSON AS BELLE LOOKS FLAWLESS.”
She really does looks absolutely beautiful, and we simply cannot wait to relive all the magic of Beauty and the Beast on the big screen next spring!
