These Celeb-Approved Sunglasses Just Got a Perfect Update
Just when we thought we had tapped out all the trends the ’90s had to offer, another one bubbles up. It’s not chokers or plaid or TV show reboots — it’s oval sunglasses, and celebs are definitely a fan of this trend.
The shades in question are the McKinley frames ($185) from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s brand Elizabeth and James, and it was inspired by an iconic set of frames worn by Kurt Cobain in the ’90s. While the McKinleys have been around for a while, the brand just released an updated pink version exclusively on Net-a-Porter that’s made with acetate and comes with dark brown lenses (with complete UV protection, of course). Emma Roberts has already been spotted in the bubblegum version, but she certainly isn’t the only celeb who loves the look.
The same sunglasses (though in the original black) have also been worn by Kendall Jenner, Elle and Dakota Fanning and Nicola Peltz. No matter how you choose to style them, the result will always be equal parts rock-n-roll chick and sophisticated lady.
