These Matcha Bliss Balls Will Give You the Energy Boost You Need
Ever have those days when you’re constantly on the go? Between answering emails to attending meetings, you don’t have time for an hour lunch, let alone remembering the last time you went to the bathroom. But instead of surviving on iced coffee or munching on a wilted salad that you brought from home, there’s a snack that you can easily bring with you wherever you go. Protein balls or bliss balls are the latest Pinterest food trend that you’ve probably heard about but had no idea what it was. Usually packed with nuts, dates, or seeds, these miniaturized balls are filled with everything you could need to help you push through the day. Check below for a blissfully tasty matcha recipe that’s healthy and delicious.
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons matcha powder
- 1/3 cup hazelnuts
- 1/3 cup cashews
- 10 pitted dates
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-2 squares dark chocolate
- 1/2 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions:
1. Place 10 pitted dates into a food processor and blend until all of them are mushed together.
2. Next, add the cashews, hazelnuts, matcha powder, and vanilla extract. Blend until everything is combined.
3. Scoop out a small amount from the food processor and roll the mixture into a ball with your hands. Place the ball on top of parchment paper.
4. To create the dark chocolate sauce, add the unsweetened cocoa and pieces of dark chocolate in a small container and place it in the microwave. Add a little milk if the chocolate is not melting correctly.
5. With a spoon, drizzle a little bit of the chocolate on top of the balls and place it in the freezer for a minimum of 15 minutes. Take it out when you want to eat them.
