This Britney Spears Biopic Trailer Is Full of Drama from Her Rougher Years
We already knew the unauthorized Britney Spears biopic was gonna be good (in that it has the chance to be so epically bad), and now the first trailer — full of head-shaving drama — has just confirmed all of our worst fears and best trainwreck-lovin’ dreams.
“100 million records sold worldwide,” the clip begins, reminding us (unnecessarily, TBH) of Britney Spears’ monumental success in the world of pop music. Opening with shots of the star walking through flashing cameras, it quickly turns to one of a hand holding hair clippers with (what’s supposed to be) Britney’s voice revealing, “I’m not going to say I was fine, ‘cause I wasn’t.” Oh, girl, we KNOW.
From there, we see Natasha Bassett as the pop princess through all her head-shaving, partying, marrying days in a blur that’s meant to mimic Britney’s life during that specifically hectic period before cutting to, natch, her eventual comeback.
Though we’re willing to give the biopic a chance (why not, right?), we have to wonder if Britney will be watching when it hits Lifetime on February 18, or if she’s seen the trailer below.
